5.5/10

A well-built bag attached to a strap system that gives up at around four months. Good until it isn't.

What holds up

  • Main compartment fabric shows no meaningful wear after five months
  • Laptop sleeve is genuinely suspended — survived two drops onto concrete
  • Water bottle pocket fits a 1L Nalgene, which most of this size do not

What doesn't

  • Shoulder strap webbing frayed at the adjuster by week 16
  • Zip pulls lost their coating and now stain light shirts
  • No external quick-access pocket, which matters daily at ticket barriers

This is a template review, not a real product. It exists so you can see the layout populated. Set draft: true in the frontmatter to hide it, or delete the file once you’ve written your first real one.

The first month said this was excellent

Everything a normal review would have caught was good. The fabric is heavy, the laptop compartment is properly suspended, and the harness distributes weight well enough that a full load on a forty-minute walk is uneventful.

Had this been written at day thirty, it would have been a strong recommend.

Then week sixteen happened

The shoulder strap webbing began fraying where it passes through the plastic adjuster. Not catastrophically, and not in a way that threatened failure during the test window — but visibly, and in a spot that takes load every single day.

A bag whose strap wears out is a bag with a fixed lifespan, regardless of how good the rest of it is.

What a spec sheet could not have told you

The fabric weight is on the product page. The strap webbing quality is not, and there is no number that would have predicted this. That gap is the entire reason this site waits.

Writing your own

Copy this file, change the frontmatter, and write. The schema in src/content/config.ts will reject anything malformed at build time, so you cannot accidentally publish a review missing its test dates or acquisition disclosure.
