Why the reviews take so long
Almost every product survives its first week. Zips hold, coatings look new, batteries hit their rated life, and the software hasn't had an update that broke anything yet. A review written in that window is really a review of the unboxing.
The failures that matter show up later — the strap that frays where it rubs, the hinge that develops play, the app that quietly drops a feature you bought the thing for. So nothing gets published here before 42 days of genuine daily use — six weeks — and most reviews run considerably longer. Every one carries a stamp showing exactly how long.
How this makes money
Affiliate links. If you buy something through one, I get a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is worth being blunt about: it means I earn more when I say yes than when I say no.
The safeguards are simple and public. Every review states how the unit was obtained — bought, gifted, loaned, or sent free by the brand. No brand sees a review before it publishes. No brand gets approval over a score. When something is bad I say so, and the "not recommended" verdicts on this site are the evidence that the arrangement isn't buying anything.
What I cover
Carry gear and daily-use kit, mostly — bags, EDC, the things that get handled every day and therefore actually wear out. Coffee equipment turns up too, because I use it constantly and it's a category where the long-term picture differs sharply from the first impression.
Corrections
If a review is wrong, tell me and I'll fix it. Corrections are noted on the review itself with the date, not silently edited in.
